Cottonwood Feeders LLC is a custom cattle growing facility located outside of Cunningham Kansas.
We specialize in growing custom replacement dairy heifers for our dairy customers and growing/developing beef cattle for feed yards in addition to developing beef replacement heifers for cow/calf operations.
Cottonwood Feeders is looking for team oriented, motivated, accountable individuals to join our team.
A majority of time will be spent assisting fellow cattle care team members with animal care or operating company equipment within company operating specifications.
Cattle care includes but is not limited to sorting cattle, administering vaccines, proper antibiotics, and performing all necessary cattle care operations.
Equipment operations include but are not limited to feeding, pen cleaning, hauling hay, etc.
Starting pay is based on experience and performance.
Training and continued education will be given to all hires.
Some experience with cattle and equipment is desired but not required.
The following skills are required to be successful in this position:
Ability to work well in a team atmosphere Provide excellent animal care and husbandry Own results and be willing to learn/change Positive attitude Commitment to safety and culture BQA knowledge/experience helpful but not required, we will train Must work in all weather conditions Exerting 25-50 pounds of force rarely; 10-20 pounds frequently.
Standing, sitting, walking, carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing, stairs all required occasionally.
We believe strongly in cross training our teammates throughout our multiple divisions.
We do our best to put our team in a position to succeed on a daily basis, while also growing their value to our team through gaining experience and knowledge of other divisions within the company.
This is a full time position with an average workload of 50 hours per week.
Starting pay is $17-22 per hour based on previous experience and professional reference's provided.
This is an agriculture related position so all hours are at standard wage, no time and half offered.
In addition Health Insurance and 401(k) retirement plan with company match are available after a probationary waiting period based on start date.
Paid vacation is provided after 1 year of full time employment.
